Twice released their second full English single "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE" this past week. I, along with millions of other fans, am obsessed. The song is a pre-release teaser for their 12th mini album which is set to release in March. The fun upbeat pop song is so catchy and uplifting, it can have anyone up and dancing. According to their label, JYP Entertainment, the song is about "the emotions and excitement of love expressed in comparison to the bright moonlight & the rising sun."
Although I only listen to Twice here and there, something about this song caught my attention. I think the lyrics are extremely relatable to almost everyone. Having a crush or being in love is such a specific feeling, "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE" captures that perfectly. The song follows the feelings of having a crush and wanting something more but being unsure of how to go about it. "Tripping over butterflies" is one of my favorite lines because it's just a beautiful way to describe the overwhelming excitement and nervousness that leads up to talking to your crush.
Even if you're not a fan of Twice yet, you can still appreciate their vocals and variety in this song. Chaeyoung's rap gives this song an extra punch. The visuals in the music video are simple yet eye-catching. The pink and blue colors throughout the video show the two sides of having a crush. The pink is the more lovey-dovey and sweet side and the blue is the sadness and unease of not knowing how they feel towards you. If you're just getting into the world of K-pop, this is a great song to start with.

My friends are super into Kpop and seeing more and more people getting into Kpop makes me wonder what I am missing out on! I used to listen in middle school but have fallen out of it since then. I cant wait to see what else you have further into the semester and perhaps this blog can help me expand my music interests!
ReplyDeleteI'm always on the search for new music. So I couldn't pass this up without listening for myself. I think this is my first K-pop song! Great listen and now I'm intrigued. I will be following!
ReplyDeleteP.s. Are all groups this big?
